Among multiple art deco style works, see the Elmer Brown mural "Freedom of Speech", previously installed in the former City Club of Cleveland.

Cleveland in the early 20th century was a city on the move. As one of the largest and most industrialized cities in the United States, Cleveland boasted factories and businesses of all shapes and sizes. The city also housed one of the country's most diverse populations.
However, as the city boomed, many in Cleveland looked with longing to the city's simpler 19th century past. The works of art in this gallery represent both the majesty of Cleveland industry in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, and the city as some Clevelanders remembered it.
